Drama

As the name suggests, Drama genres are filled with suspense and usually contain a lot of emotion within the story. This genre is one of the most appreciated genres out of the other types as this genre contains characters with solid backgrounds and plots that will fill the audience with emotions. It is common that this genre is mixed with other genres such as Love/Romance, Adventure or Comedy.

Example

A good example of Drama is the series “Angel Beats!” published in 2008, this comedy-drama takes place at a high school that acts like a limbo to those who have died. At this high school, the students learn to let go of the “unfinished business” from the when they were alive before passing on. Although they are in this limbo, the people there would still feel the same pain as they would when they were alive, this includes the pain of dying again but only to wake up later with no injuries.

This story revolves around Otonashi, a boy who arrives goes into limbo but has lost his memories. Upon arriving, he meets a girl named Yuri, who invites him to join the “Afterlife Battlefront”, an organization that she founded that fights against god for the negative experiences that all the members have suffered through life, these attempts conclude in some comical situations. Their enemy is Kanade Tachibana (aka Angel), a girl who uses supernatural powers to fight against the organization alone.
